Call for Papers

ASCB 2021 aims to promote the international exchange of ideas among researchers in academia and industry. We would like to invite you to submit your manuscript on topics here.

Publication & Tracking

All accepted papers of ASCB 2021 will be published in one of the journals/proceedings or book chapters that are announced here.
You can also follow up the publication process for the previous events.

Paper Submission

From 2020, the method of paper submission has been changed and improved for better service. All authors should register through MySigma Portal and follow the instructions in order to submit their papers. You can track your paper status through your account in the portal. You may find the paper submission guidlines  here.

Review Process

All the submissions must be sent to our Mysigma portal before the submission deadline. The manuscripts will be peer-reviewed by our experts. If your paper is accepted, we will forward it for proofreading after the registration.

Dr. Andrea Galli was born in Bollate (MI, Italy) on February the 22nd, 1976. He got a degree in Environmental Engineering in 2001 at Politecnico di Milano on “Mathematical modeling of mechanical behavior of sand under cyclic loads”; then he attended the Doctoral School at Politecnico di Milano and he got a PhD in Seismic and Geotechnical Engineering in 2005 on “Mechanical interaction between buried pipelines and landslides: small scale experimental analyses, numerical modelling, and case studies.

From April 2005 to April 2007 he got a Post-Doc fellowship at Politecnico di Milano (Dept. of Structural Engineering) on “Micromechanics of Granular media”.

Since 2007 he is Assistant Professor of Soil Mechanics at Politecnico di Milano. His main fields of interest are numerical modelling of mechanical behavior of granular materials, mechanical interaction between soil and buried structures, slope stability analyses, long term monitoring of unstable slopes and soil embankments, development of innovative design strategies for slope stabilizing structures.

Since 2010 he is co supervisor of the Laboratory of Analysis and Numerical Research in Geotechnical Engineering (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hEFFOB3OS7Q)

He was elected member of the board of the National Italian Geotechnical Group (http://www.gnig.it/) from July 2015 to July 2018. Also he member of the Teaching Chapter of the Italian Geotechnical Association (http://www.associazionegeotecnica.it/, AGI) since 2015 as well as member of the Bureau of the Italian Geotechnical Association (AGI) since 2019 till now. In addition, he was the director of the European association ALERT – Geomaterials (http://alertgeomaterials.eu/) and also AGI Corresponding Member, ISSMGE-TC202, Transportation Geotechnics since 2015 and AGI Delegate Member, ISSMGE-TC219, System Performance of Geotechnical Structures since 2020 so far.
